Point Park University Online Journalism

About Online Journalism

Online Journalism, JOUR 280, is an introductory class meant to teach students the many facets of online news and information.

Students learn how to write for the web, including writing blogs and news stories with a "web voice"

They are also instructed in creating multimedia pieces for the web including video, audio, slide shows and photo galleries, quizes, polls and charts/graphs.

The students have been required to keep a blog throughout the semester on a topic of their choice (see links to the right) as well as write a "print plus" story for their final project

The print plus story must be a journalistic story written for the web with accompanying "multimedia extras". You can also see their stories in the links at right.
