Laci Staines

Laci Staines, a senior photojournalism major at Point Park University aims to deliver truthful, thorough, and unbiased reporting. She has been taking photos since she was a teenager and believes that each photograph captures a specific moment in time that is nearly impossible to recreate. Laci fell in love with writing her junior year of high school. Mostly journaling about her life at the time, Laci grew interested in documenting life events on a broader scale. Seeking to document events that have an impact on people in our communities, nationally, and globally.

Laci hopes to shed light on important topics through not only words but with photographs in order to capture the reader’s attention and bring visual awareness to the things going on around us.

After graduation Laci would like take photos for the National Hockey League or inspire children to pursue their dreams despite the obstacles they may face.

While in university Laci is employed at Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Shady Side, enjoys Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, and spending time with her cat Olivia.
